2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: First and last name, email address, phone number, and profile photo
- Family profiles: Family name, children's names and ages, allergies, emergency contact information, and home addresses
- Nanny profiles: Work history, years of experience, education, hourly rates, availability, skills, and biographical information
- Identity documents: Government-issued ID uploaded for background check verification (stored securely and only accessed by authorized staff)
- References: Names, relationships, and phone numbers of professional references provided by nannies
- Payment information: Payment card details are processed by Stripe and never stored on our servers
- Communications: Messages exchanged between families and nannies through the app
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Device information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
- Usage data: Features used, pages viewed, and actions taken within the app
- Location data: Approximate location used to match nannies with nearby families (only when you grant permission)
- Push notification tokens: Used to send booking confirmations, payment receipts, and important account notifications
2.3 Information From Third Parties
- Stripe: Payment processing and fraud prevention data
- Checkr: Background check results for nannies who opt into Elite verification
- Family Watchdog: Sex offender registry check results conducted as part of our nanny verification process
- Twilio: Phone number verification for account authentication
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To connect families with qualified nannies in their area
- To process payments and payouts securely through Stripe
- To verify nanny identity and conduct background checks
- To send booking confirmations, receipts, and important account notifications
- To resolve disputes between families and nannies
- To improve our platform and develop new features
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 With Other Users
When a family connects with a nanny, limited profile information is shared between both parties to facilitate the childcare relationship. This includes name, photo, ratings, and contact information after a booking is confirmed.
4.2 With Service Providers

- Checkr — background check screening
- Family Watchdog — sex offender registry checks
- Twilio — phone number verification via SMS
- Expo — push notification delivery
4.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to prevent fraud or illegal activity.
4.4 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Children's Privacy
Our platform is designed for use by adults (families and nannies). We collect limited information about children solely to facilitate childcare services — specifically names, ages, and any relevant health information such as allergies. This information is only shared with nannies who are confirmed for a booking.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
6. Data Security
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
- Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and never stored on our servers
- Identity documents are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket
- We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data
- Administrative access to user data is strictly limited and logged
7. Data Retention
- Your profile information will be removed within 30 days of account deletion
- Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance
- Background check results are retained per Checkr's data retention policy
- Messages may be retained for dispute resolution purposes for up to 2 years
8. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt-out: Opt out of non-essential communications at any time through app settings

9. Push Notifications
We send push notifications for booking confirmations, payment receipts, verification updates, and job matches. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
10. Location Data
We use approximate location data to match nannies with nearby families and to display distance information on nanny profiles. We do not track your precise real-time location continuously. Location access can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
11. Background Checks
- Sex offender registry check via Family Watchdog — conducted automatically when a nanny uploads their government ID
- Comprehensive background check via Checkr — available optionally for nannies who purchase Elite verification ($49.99)
12. Payments and Financial Data
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details on our servers. For nanny payouts, we use Stripe Connect Express.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email.
