- References: Names, relationships, and phone numbers of professional references provided by nannies
- Payment information: Payment card details are processed by Stripe and never stored on our servers
- Communications: Messages exchanged between families and nannies through the app

- Device information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
- Usage data: Features used, pages viewed, and actions taken within the app

4. Nanny Identity Protection & Pre-Booking Privacy
PTN is designed to protect the personal identity of nannies until a booking relationship has been established. This approach reflects industry-recognized privacy best practices outlined by the International Nanny Association (INA) and the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies (APNA).
4.1 What Families See Before a Booking Is Confirmed
Prior to booking confirmation, families browsing nanny profiles will only see:
- Last initial only — a nanny's full name is never displayed before booking (e.g., "Sarah M.")
- Distance from the family's location — approximate proximity only, not a precise address
- Verified badges — such as background check status, ID verification, and Elite tier designation
- General profile attributes — experience years, hourly rate range, availability, and skills
No photo identifiers, contact details, last name, home location, or other personally identifying information is visible to a family until a booking has been confirmed by both parties.
4.2 What Is Shared After Booking Confirmation
Once a booking is confirmed, limited profile information is shared between both parties to facilitate the childcare relationship. This includes full name, photo, ratings, and contact information.
4.3 Why We Do This
PTN's pre-booking identity protection is informed by multiple recognized standards bodies including NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) and APNA (Association of Premier Nanny Agencies), which require that candidate information be kept confidential and only disclosed upon confirmed, mutual agreement.
4.4 Nanny Control Over Their Information
Nannies may review, update, or request removal of their profile information at any time through app settings or by contacting info@parttimenannyapp.com. Nannies can also control their availability status and choose which job opportunities they apply to.
5. How We Share Your Information

6. Children's Privacy
Our platform is designed for use by adults (families and nannies). We collect limited information about children solely to facilitate childcare services — specifically names, ages, and any relevant health information such as allergies. This information is only shared with nannies who are confirmed for a booking.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
7. Data Security
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
- Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and never stored on our servers
- Identity documents are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket
- We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data
- Administrative access to user data is strictly limited and logged
- Nanny personally identifying information is withheld from other users until a booking is confirmed

- Your profile information will be removed within 30 days of account deletion

- Messages may be retained for dispute resolution purposes for up to 2 years

10. SMS Messages & Push Notifications
10.1 SMS Text Messages
When you create an account on the Part-Time Nanny app, you provide your mobile phone number and consent during onboarding to receive SMS messages from PTN. By completing account registration, you agree to receive text messages including one-time verification codes (OTP), booking confirmations, payment receipts, job match alerts, and important account notifications.
- Message frequency: Varies based on your account activity. You may receive more messages during active booking periods.
- Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan.
- We do not share your mobile phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.
To opt out of SMS messages at any time, reply STOP to any text message from PTN. You will receive one final confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent. To resume messages, reply START. For help, reply HELP or contact us at info@parttimenannyapp.com.
10.2 Push Notifications
We send push notifications for booking confirmations, payment receipts, verification updates, and job matches. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
11. Location Data
We use approximate location data to match nannies with nearby families and to display distance information on nanny profiles. We do not track your precise real-time location continuously. Location access can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
12. Background Checks
- Sex offender registry check via Family Watchdog — conducted automatically when a nanny uploads their government ID
- Comprehensive background check via Checkr — available optionally for nannies who purchase Elite verification ($49.99)
13. Payments and Financial Data
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details on our servers. For nanny payouts, we use Stripe Connect Express.

PTN's privacy and candidate data practices are informed by the following recognized standards bodies:
- NACE — National Association of Colleges and Employers (naceweb.org): Principles for Ethical Professional Practice require that employment professionals maintain the confidentiality of candidate information and obtain candidate consent before disclosure.

15. Changes to This Policy
